FEELING DISCOURAGED?

It’s so easy to fall into a pit of despair when things aren’t as easy or straightforward as we hoped they’d be.

But all change doesn’t happen in a straight line!

So what are you going to make that mean?

The way you talk to yourself after a setback determines how you recover.

We have the misguided notion that if we beat ourselves up about it, we won’t do it again. Wrong-o. Instead, it means we won’t want to look closely at where we got off track and won’t be able to make meaningful course corrections.

So LESS telling yourself something has gone wrong. LESS trying to hate yourself sober or rich or whatever your goal is. MORE compassion and “what can I learn here?”

Even if you aren’t where you want to be, you’re still further along than when you started. You’re doing this.

It was never supposed to be simple and linear. Discomfort is the price of admission to a different life.
